Yes, Regal Swan. Thanks for your reply.

I guess you were right and it was not a part 1 happy ending for my beloved family of swans.

I think that the one who has returned is a female and the male is the one who is gone. She recognizes my calling and even from a long distance rushes up to me to get her bread. However, I remember (for 10 years that I knew this family: her, her partner and their 10 generations of little 5-7 cygnets every May, even that only 1-3 were the survivors before they have fledged from late Fall to December), that the female was the one who was a very little eater. She would take just few bites and always swims off to wait for her family to get full. It looks as it's the one. She does the same: comes on calling gets ew bites, looks very alerted and uncomfortable around Canadian Geese who try on my bread feeding to her, and then she just leaves. However, she acts very strange lately. She spends most of her time now at the litlle (very safe) island where she and her partner have nested for the past 12 years. She only left it once for the past 6 days when heard me calling. It is very close to shores and I can perfectly see her. She turns her head to my voice but then ignores coming.Looks, as she is psychologically believes she is nesting!!! She digs the leaves and packs it and some sticks around herself nonstop, as she is working so hard on building a new nest or something. On top, she sits on it and constantly stands up for a few seconds to turn around too. Do you think she is confused? Depressed? And what is going to happen if she sits and sits but no eggs and babies will be as a result? It's so depressing to watch. Thanks a lot for your time. Ari.
