Bread won't hurt the swan, but it holds no nutritional value. The reason that the swan has angel wing is that it is either a birth defect or it had too much protein in its diet. Too much protein causes the wing and body to grow quickly and the supporting tissue holding the wing does not grow at the same rate and cannot support the weight of the large wing. This gives it is backward, slipped wing appearance.
You need to feed him a mixture of 1/2 cracked corn and 1/2 poultry layer pellets with the bread. You can also add lettuce to the mix to provide him some supplemental vegetation, although lettuce to some swans is an acquired taste. If he cannot fly, he may be relegated to a life alone, but he will do just fine. Also, how do you know that it is a male? It may be a female and she will do just fine as well. The Regal Swan
